2018 NBA Championship Futures: Golden State Warriors Overwhelming Favorites

2018 NBA Championship Futures: Golden State Warriors Overwhelming FavoritesWith the opening night of the NBA season tipping off tonight, 2018 NBA Championship futures are already starting to get action. It may come as no surprise, but the Golden State Warriors are already heavy favorites to win the championship title.

At Bovada Sportsbook, the Golden State Warriors are -160 favorites to win back-to-back titles. This is the second time in a row that the Warriors have been odds-on favorites to win the NBA title before Game 1, a feat that had previously only been achieved by the 97-98 Chicago Bulls.

If you were to take this bet now, it means that you could bet $160 in order to win $100 plus your original stake. When betting on NBA Championship futures, you will find the best value the earlier you bet. When the Warriors finally took on the Cavaliers in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, you would have had to bet $240 in order to net $100.

Betting Against Golden State

Though Golden State is the clear favorite, you can still bet on any of the other 29 teams to win the NBA Championship. There are two other teams with season openers tonight that are also top contenders when it comes to #NBAChampionship odds – the Cavaliers and the Celtics.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have +450 odds to win the 2017 NBA Championship as they face off against their Eastern Conference Championship rivals tonight. It’s worth noting that Dwayne Wade and Derrick Rose were added to the roster during the offseason.

The 2018 NBA Championship odds for the Boston Celtics are +800, putting them next in line to win the title. The team traded Isaiah Thomas, Ante Zizic, Jae Crowder, and one draft pick for Kyrie Irving.

Outside of the top three, you can also bet on the San Antonio Spurs or Oklahoma City Thunder with +1200 NBA Championship betting odds. Both of the teams made a few changes during the offseason, along with the Houston Rockets who have +1600 betting odds. Guard Chris Paul went to the Rockets, while the Thunder made trades to add Carmelo Anthony and Paul George to their roster.

There is a four-way tie between the Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, and Orlando Magic for biggest longshot at +100000 betting odds.
